Quoc Island, within the Kien Giang Province. On June 8, 2001, under Decree No. 91\/2001\/Q\u0110-TTg, the reserve was officially upgraded to a national park.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Encompassing a total area of <strong>314 square kilometers<\/strong>, the park occupies <strong>approximately 54%<\/strong> of the &#8220;jade island&#8221; (Phu Quoc Island&#8217;s total area is 573 square kilometers). It erstreckt sich across various communes and wards under the jurisdiction of Phu Quoc City, including Ganh Dau, Bai Thom, Cua Can, part of Duong Dong, Ham Ninh, Duong To, and Duong Dong. Additionally, it encompasses areas such as the North Island Nature Reserve, Ham Rong Mountain, Ganh Dau, and Cua Can.<\/p>\n<p>The park boasts an incredibly diverse ecosystem, harmoniously blending forests, seas, hills, and waterfalls. The lush tropical and primary forest vegetation serves as a haven for hundreds of wild animal species, including several endangered ones facing a high risk of extinction.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from its rich flora and fauna, Phu Quoc National Park also features over 60 kilometers of breathtaking coastline adorned with coral reefs and teeming with unique marine life. To reach this enchanting destination, you can opt for personal vehicles, taxis, or join group tours.<\/p>\n<p>If you choose to embark on your own adventure, expect a travel time of around 35 minutes, as the distance from Phu Quoc&#8217;s center (Duong Dong Town) to the park is approximately 21.7 kilometers. By car or motorbike, the most straightforward <strong>route is to follow Highway 8<\/strong> for about 1.6 kilometers, then turn <strong>onto Provincial Road 973 (DT973)<\/strong> heading north for about 13.1 kilometers until you reach the entrance of Phu Quoc National Park (at the Xom Moi Forest Guard Station).<\/p>\n<p>However, keep in mind that an additional 8-kilometer trek awaits to reach the primary forest area.<\/p>\n<p>It is advisable to undertake self-navigation only if you have prior experience navigating forest trails.
