Bai Dai Beach Phu Quoc: The Wild Beach of the Northwest
What To Do In Phu Quoc
Bai Dai (Dai Beach) is one of the most beautiful beaches on Phu Quoc – a long stretch of fine white sand meeting emerald water, backed by wild, peaceful nature. Often called a “hidden gem” of the island, it’s also home to the Phu Quoc United Center resort complex. This Rooty Trip guide covers where Bai Dai is, when to go, how to get there, what to do, and what to see nearby.
About Bai Dai Beach
Bai Dai is known for its wild, unspoiled beauty, clear water and diverse marine life. Right next to it sits Phu Quoc United Center, one of Vietnam’s leading resort and entertainment complexes, home to VinWonders, Vinpearl Safari and Grand World – so you can combine a beach day with major attractions.
Where is Bai Dai? It’s in the northwest of Phu Quoc, facing the Gulf of Thailand, stretching from Ganh Dau Cape down toward Cua Can.
Why is it called “Bai Dai” (Long Beach in Vietnamese)? Because it’s the island’s longest continuous beach — about 15 km of white sand. (Note: this is the beach’s length, not its distance from town.)
How to get to Bai Dai
Bai Dai is roughly 25–30 km from Duong Dong (about 40–50 minutes) to the main Ganh Dau / United Center end – the southern (Cua Can) end is a little closer. Options:
- Taxi or private transfer – the easiest way, especially with family.
- Motorbike – flexible and scenic, following Google Maps.
- Free shuttle bus to the United Center complex, if you’re heading to the parks.
If you’re unsure of the way, locals are always happy to help.
Best time to visit Bai Dai
Bai Dai is at its best from November to March, and again from mid-April to June — dry, sunny weather with calm, clear seas, ideal for swimming, water sports and photos. Come in the morning or around midday, when the water is clearest and bluest.
